Reminder: Field Trip to MacSkimming Tomorrow!

Just a reminder that we will be visiting the MacSkimming Outdoor Center tomorrow! The students and I are looking forward to the pioneer village experience! A special thanks go out to our adult volunteers: Mithran’s Mom, Alex T’s Mom, Meesha’s Dad, and Shawn’s Dad as well as the lovely Miss. Monika. These parent volunteers should sign in at the office at 9:25am and head up to our classroom. We will be heading out the bus at 9:35am sharp (right after O Canada and morning announcements), so please make sure your child is here on time at the first bell, or he/she will be placed in another Grade 3 class for learning until we return to the school. We will be returning to the school around 2:15pm in the afternoon. There is snow and rain and cold temperatures in the forecast for Monday, so students should be dressed according to the conditions (hat, mitts, snow pants, winter coat, winter boots or rain boots, extra socks).

Don’t forget to pack your child a litter-free lunch and a reusable water bottle on Monday. We will have a brief lunch break while we are there.

Some Changes **Robert Munsch Presentation Dates – This Week.

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a fantastic March Break! This is a reminder that the students will give their Robert Munsch presentations this week! Yesterday’s, presentations were great! I trust that students have been working hard to become familiar with their books!
Thank you, parents, for your support and for offering regular feedback to your child. We do have some presentation date changes.

Friendly Reminder – Field Trip Form

Good Monday morning parents!

I have only had 9 parents fill out our NEW field trip form for the rescheduled MacSkimming Field Trip.

Here it is again:

OCDSB 122 – Consent for Student Participation on a Field Trip

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Grade 3 students in Mr. Jackson’s class and mine will now visit the MacSkimming Outdoor Education Centre Pioneer Village on Monday, March 24th. This is our rescheduled date due to the bus cancellations on February 13th.

We will travel by bus to the village at 3700 Wilhaven Dr., departing at 9:30 AM and returning to school by 2:15 PM for the last block of the day. Students will also have a lunch break at the Education Centre.

As promised, here is the new online field trip permission form link. Please complete it as soon as possible so your child can participate:

I currently only have 1 parent for the new date. If you are interested in volunteering, please indicate this on the online permission form and email me directly. I will then send you the trip volunteer form. A valid police records check is required to volunteer. If you do not already have one, you will need to obtain one before the trip. If you had a record check filled out before, please email it to us again so that it will be date stamped when sent.

Due to seating restrictions on the bus, we have a limited number of volunteer spots available.
