Every week is a great week in room 216, but this particular week was AAAAAMAZING! We were actually sad to hear the bell at 3:45 on Friday! Can you imagine?!
From learning how to calculate perimeter with licorice, to learning all about how we are going to prep, paint and place our kindness rocks, to walking through an entire EQAO math booklet and learning the ropes, strategies and how to process questions, the week was jammed packed. Ask your kiddo about Selina and the Bear Paw Quilt or how the Aboriginals helped the Early Settlers make way for a new life in Upper Canada. We are up to 152 books for the book sale, but have been challenged by Mrs. Winters to surpass her 300 books! Lets see if we can catch her! The book sale is this Friday. Hard covers are $2 and soft covers are $1 – what a deal! Please send your child to school with money in a little purse, wallet or ziplock bag.
Students should be bringing home their Emperor’s New Clothes scripts from time to time this week and next to practice.
Our Working with Words unit has come to an end as of May 1st we will be focusing on the remaining strands in the Language subject of the curriculum.
We will be having our Measurement Math test this coming Wednesday morning before we break for our exciting Scientists in School session. Our parent volunteers for this event are: Amala’s Mom, Alaina’s Mom, Amy’s Mom and Ms. B.
Today, I had the pleasure of heading down to Immaculata High School to cheer on our very own Justin Zhou in the Canadian Spelling Bee Competition. Congratulations to Justin!
Here are a few cute pics from the week:
