WEJ CHEO WALK-A-THON

CHEO Walk-a-Thon Fundraiser

Over the past 40 years, CHEO has established itself as a world-class centre providing leading-edge treatment and compassionate care for children and youth aged 0 to 18 years of age. CHEO’s large service area not only includes Ottawa, but also Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, Nunavut and parts of Northern Ontario.

Your donations help the hospital provide a wide variety of pediatric programs, pioneer breakthrough research, train the health care professionals of tomorrow, purchase state-of-the-art equipment, and assist families in crisis.

CHEO is truly a very special place. We are very fortunate to have CHEO in our city. Let’s all be ‘Superheroes for CHEO’. Please donate for the CHEO Walk-a-Thon taking place here at WEJ on Wednesday, May 18th. Donations will be accepted up to and including Friday, May 18th.

CHEO info, including walking permission forms will be sent home tomorrow.

THANK YOU for your support!

Up Coming Mothers Day Craft …

Parent’s can you please send your child to school this week with a t-shirt. It by NO means needs to be brand new, but you will NOT be getting it back in the condition in which you send it in.

Feminine colours are preferred! Any size will do, adult, teen or child, but preferably not toddler or infant.

You will have to wait until Mother’s Day before we reveal, how we have recycled your t-shirt. If by chance you come across an extra t-shirt that is no longer worn please send it in too as some children will either forget and or simple not have access to one.

Gr. 3: Swim to Survive Participants ONLY

This is for the children in my class who were NOT in the group that went with Ms. Argue’s class and are instead going with Mr. Jackson …

Please do not forget to send your child to school Tuesday of this week (Apr. 26th) with a swim suit, towel and plastic bag. Goggles and flip flops are optional. The students are super-excited for this curriculum-based program! Thank-you to all of the parents who have volunteered to come with us. I have come up with a schedule for the parent volunteers (see below). Please email (Shaw.Jackson@ocdsb.ca) to confirm that you will be able to come on your designated day(s) or if you cannot make it. Again, you will be there to provide general supervision as the program is taught and run by qualified swim instructors. Please meet us upstairs in my room at 12:00pm on these days. You are welcome to come on the bus with us. We will be travelling to the Goulbourn Recreation Complex. The students will be in the pool from 12:00-1:00pm. We should be back to W.E.J. by 3:00pm.
