On Friday, our students participated in a wonderful hands-on, one-hour virtual workshop about soil and plants presented by Scientists in School. The workshop introduced the students to the basic concepts of seed germination, soil components, seed travel, and how plants grow. Students also created their own soil profile, soil mixture and planted seeds. They will track the growth of their seedlings over the next few weeks in class. Throughout the workshop, the students were attentive, focused, and engaged. Well done, scientists! We will have a SOILS quiz on Tuesday of this week, the students took home their Duotangs for studying this weekend.
