We will be having our Social Studies unit test this Friday, April 22nd 2022!

Students can study their social studies duotang notes in preparation for this unit test on Early Settlers (Anishinabe, Wendat and Pioneer people). We have spent a few classes this week reviewing and preparing for the test in class. Please make sure your child returns his/her social studies duotang to school each day if it is brought home for review. We will mark their Pioneer Reading Card packages tonight and return to the duotang tomorrow for review purposes. 

Additionally, our students experienced a fun-filled Virtual experience last Tuesday through the Pioneer Village at the MacSkimming Outdoor Education Center offered by the OCDSB! What a great way to complement and add to all that we have learned in the classroom about life as an early settler. Students witnessed a variety of activities throughout the lesson: learning about a variety of early settler chores, like tapping trees, carrying water, etc., using antique tools, and experiencing what it was like to be a student learning in a one-room schoolhouse!
