We have been up to so much in room 216 and there is so much to come! Our May schedule is filling up quick, before we know it the big yellow buses will be pulling out for Summer Vacation. With that said, there is a lot of learning left to do!
EQAO:
EQAO testing for grades 3 and 6 will take place at the end of May. We will start on May 21st and our test days will be the 22nd, 23rd and 24th. We have been prepping the students in-class as the year has goes on…and there is much you can do at home as well if you wish. For example, parents can download EQAO practice tests and have your child complete them at home. Please go to the link below:
http://www.eqao.com/en/
Please download a test (or more!) for your child and take some homework time to go over it with them. Your child will benefit from this review of their language and math skills greatly. You may choose to do as many tests as you like and as much/little preparation as you prefer. It is up to you to mark and review the test with your child.
You can also go here to find example language tests with exemplars. These are organized by text genres.
Ms. B:
Tomorrow is Ms. B’s last day. We are looking forward to some fun, curriculum based activities taking place in the afternoon! The kids and I will miss her dearly.
USED WEJ BOOK SALE:
Hello WEJ Readers! We have exciting news for you – the WEJ Used Book Sale is just over 2 weeks away. This means we need to start collecting used books. Starting on Monday, bring in used books (with your parents’ permission) to donate to our book sale. Which class will bring in the most donations? We will see!
